Thanks for stopping by. I’m Marion. I live in a little red house in the north of Sweden. I make illustrations with cut paper, watercolors, and colored pencils.
These days, you can also find me knitting by the fire, sewing, or walking in the countryside with my camera. I enjoy slow, simple living.
I used to be a physicist, messing around in the lab with lasers, tiny glass beads, shaving foam (yes, shaving foam!) and all kinds of viscous liquids. It was fun, but also frustrating. The more I got tired of the “publish or perish” rule that, sadly, governs today’s academia, the more I found my myself daydreaming about my abandoned colored pencils.
It struck me that the consumer’s life I was offered wasn’t worth all these hours spent at work. I also felt that my research was being driven by interests and policies I disagreed with.
Living frugally and having more time really seemed to be a much better way toward a greener and happier life. In early 2014 I decided to take that way, and here I am blogging about it.
Thanks for reading!
